Hosted by the British Association for Cytopathology the 40th ECC meeting will cover all aspects of cervical and diagnostic cytology in the UK, Europe and around the world. The meeting will have a mix of parallel sessions with hands on cytology workshops, and will allow all cytologists to share their knowledge and expertise. With a meeting theme of “extending knowledge, expanding roles” it will be of relevance to all those working in cytology, as well as clinicians and patients who rely on a cytology service.
It will include an active commercial presence and both poster and oral presentations, as well as a Congress dinner.
The venue is a modern, purpose built conference center situated on the water front of the iconic River Mersey. A short walking distance from the main city center, the venue is well served by many hotels in the immediate area, most again within easy walking distance of the conference building.
A conference dinner will be held, also on the riverfront, during the meeting, with Beatles themed musical entertainment! Visit the dedicated meeting website for more information and details on registration.
Liverpool is largely known worldwide as the birthplace of the Beatles and for its two Premiership football teams, Liverpool and Everton, but it is also a UNESCO World Heritage site, and was European City of Culture (2008). The Beatles influence can be seen in many venues and tours, including a Beatles Story exhibition, which many delegates will no doubt take the opportunity to experience if they can during their stay in Liverpool. The city center provides first class shopping opportunities, and with easy access to other parts of the UK such as the Lake District and Wales, we are sure delegates will want to come early or stay on after the meeting to explore these even more.
